Nasren Rajabi has transformed her passion for fashion into a successful career after completing specialist training with the Fashion Technology Academy in Leicester.
Nasren enrolled on the Level 1 Awards in Fashion and Textiles – Stitching course before progressing onto the Skills Bootcamp programme, New Skills for Fashion Businesses. Through the training, she developed practical industry skills including machine operation, hand stitching and garment construction, helping her gain the confidence and experience needed to pursue a career in the fashion and textiles industry.
Speaking about her experience, Nasren said:
“This course helped me to gain confidence using the machines, hand stitching and to progress and I can now make my own garments. With support from FTA I was able to get a job with Barrie Knitwear.”
The support and hands-on learning provided by the Fashion Technology Academy enabled Nasren to build both her technical abilities and self-confidence, preparing her for employment within the sector.
Following the completion of her courses, Nasren successfully secured full-time employment with Barrie Knitwear Ltd, a luxury cashmere knitwear manufacturer renowned for its craftsmanship and heritage.
Nasren’s journey highlights how accredited training and industry-focused skills programmes can open doors to rewarding careers within Leicester’s thriving fashion and textiles industry.
