Visitor Numbers Up At Fashion SVP

The organisers of Fashion SVP, the international sourcing show, reported a successful January 2020 edition, which took place on 29th-30th January at Olympia, London.

Visitors were up 28% up over 2019, with senior buyers from most major brands attending. A new slot in September (8th & 9th) has been announced for the 2nd edition in 2020.

Established regulars on the Fashion SVP agenda Fashion-Enter Ltd hosted an ‘Ethical Manufacturing Uncovered’ – a ‘drop-in’ practical and interactive stand to demonstrate all the services and courses we provide. Fashion-Enter CEO Jenny Holloway also dropped by on day 2 to join an industry panel discussion on ‘The business case for sustainability: How leading businesses have turned sustainability from a cost to an opportunity.’

Jenny commented: “Fashion SVP was the busiest we have known it to date. Our stand was inundated with quality retailers and quality start-up and scale-up brands. A few of the retailers had commented that with the shut down with China and the coronavirus they are now actively engaging and looking at UK sources. The UK now has so much to offer with short runs and fast track production. Thank-you to Ralph and Buzz for a productive event.”

Fashion SVP’s founder Buzz Carter said: “We’ve had a very lively show, and we’re delighted with the turnout – the quantity of visitors was up a whopping 28% over 2019, with most major brands and retailers attending, as well as masses of smaller up and coming brands.

“The event was packed with exciting new features including the excellent Fashion Enter sustainable fashion workshops and demonstrations, a new Moroccan Pavilion, the launch of our buyers’ Sourcing Hub information service which was a smash hit with buyers, and a highly successful Breakfast Briefing, co-hosted with Drapers.

“With thought-provoking and important seminar panel discussions and very positive feedback from our exhibitors, reflected in achieving our re-book of future space for the past couple of years, we’re now looking forward with great enthusiasm to developing our future visions and plans for the leading show in responsible sourcing, Fashion SVP.”
