UK-Nigeria Circular Fashion Global Innovation Network Pathway Report

The UK-Nigeria Circular Fashion Global Innovation Network is a new initiative led by the Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa Project team based in Nigeria to catalyse a revolutionary transformation in the Nigerian fashion industry by adopting circular fashion principles and innovations. Both the UK and Nigeria share a common goal – to create a high impact, innovative but socially responsible fashion industry.

The Innovate UK ‘UK-Nigeria Circular Fashion Global Innovation Network’ steering committee is made up of several members including Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL).

The project aims to develop a strategic pathway for the Circular Fashion sector, focusing on UK-Nigeria innovation collaboration and knowledge transfer. This involves analysing current trends and providing recommendations to enhance cooperation, particularly in circular fashion practices.

Focus areas include: Redefining chemicals in production / manufacturing, recycling and upcycling of textiles and innovating sustainable materials for sustainable fabrics.

Objectives of the Pathway Report:

  • Provide an in-depth analysis of current industry practices and future opportunities within the UK and Nigerian fashion sectors.
  • Offer recommendations for key business, innovation, and policy stakeholders in both regions based on this analysis.
