Textile Print Designer Zara Afflick Joins The N17 Creative Callings Programme

Fashion-Enter and the Fashion Technology Academy are thrilled to be a part of the Creative Enterprise Zones Mayoral initiative with the business skills programme N17: Creative Callings also supported the European Union. It’s programmes like this that ensures artists and entrepreneurs, regardless of background, are given the support they need and become London’s creative leaders of the future.

Meet Textiles designer Zara Afflick (pictured above with Jenny Holloway), she founded Box Of Prints LTD in April 2016, specialising in creating unique printed fabrics. She recently joined the N17 Creative Callings programme to gain further business insight, mentoring and support.

Box of Prints specialises in creating unique printed fabrics, often regarded as vibrant and rich in layered textures. From an early age, Zara was inspired by the craftsmanship of clothing and the world of creative arts. Zara studied Surface Design Technology at London College of Fashion; her major area of study was printed textiles. Since graduating in 2013, Zara continued to create prints, which led to her freelancing for various designers/companies and later on building her own company. Box of Prints offers a boutique of printed fabrics, bespoke printing services and creative workshops.

Zara comments: “Since being a part of N17 Creative Callings I have been motivated to dig deeper in my business. With great guidance from the team, I’ve been networked to individuals and groups who look to support my venture. The mentorship has also enabled me to strategically plan for the future and make the right the decisions not only for the company but personal development.”
