Summer Schools Visit FEL to Learn All About Ethical Fashion Production

While schools, colleges, and universities go on summer break, Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) has remained a hive of educational activity, welcoming summer school groups with students from around the globe for an immersive look into ethical fashion production.

Week commencing 14th July, FEL hosted a large group of Chinese students from Asdan. With many of the visitors having limited English, Caroline Ash, FEL’s Production Director, led a tailored, highly visual tour of the factory floor. The hands-on approach helped the students better understand the complexities and challenges of modern fashion manufacturing, and the tour was met with enthusiastic participation.

Later in the week, Kensington Park School International Tours returned for their second summer visit. This returning group brought a fresh wave of curiosity, with students asking insightful questions and showing a keen interest in sustainable fashion practices.

A key part of the experience was exposing students to cutting-edge technology that is shaping the future of ethical fashion. Visitors were introduced to innovative tools like Style3D, a 3D design and virtual sampling software that reduces the need for physical samples, saving both time and waste. They also explored Maeknit, a groundbreaking circular knitting technology that supports on-demand, low-waste garment production.

In addition to learning about production, students were shown FEL’s services in garment repairs and reprocessing, which are becoming increasingly vital in an industry moving toward circular fashion systems. These services emphasise longevity, reducing landfill waste and encouraging a more responsible approach to clothing consumption.

Overall, the tours provide not just an educational outing, but a meaningful look at how ethical and technological advancements are transforming the fashion industry for the better.
