Staff from ASOS and Sainsbury’s Take the Factory Uncovered CPPD

This week, 20th March 2023, we had two groups from ASOS and another from Sainsbury’s take the Factory Uncovered CPPD tour and seminar.

Led by FEL Director Caroline Ash the tour was adapted to cover key areas relevant to the attendees and their line of work. Caroline said: “This week we had two cohorts in from the online etailer ASOS. We had attendees from lots of different departments, but what they found very useful was how to improve supplier communication, seeing behind the scenes and understanding how a factory works, sustainability, costings and how to be more efficient and save time when fitting and the subsequent fit comments.

We had employees from Sainsbury’s in to finish the week. They found it particularly useful relating the seminar to the actual factory tour and how they would apply this in their working environment . They also enjoyed the insight into how we calculate our costs.”

Feedback from ASOS included:

“I learnt loads about the garment making process, factory ways of working and fit tips. Lovely team and great environment, thanks.”

“Fantastic and insightful session throughout, we were given lots of room to ask lots of questions.”

“I learnt a lot about costings, pattern cutting and machinery. Very clear, thanks for having us.”

“Fit comments and sampling process really helpful, costings also really useful to know.”

And from Sainsbury’s
