Spreading the Word – Level 1 Stitching Course at the FTA Wales

As a new course provider the FTA in Wales has been busy promoting and spreading the word about its Level 1 stitching course, here Fashion-Enter Wales Senior Administrator, Annabella Lewis, explains where and how they have been promoting the course…

In the past few weeks, I have been out and about in the community promoting our Level 1 stitching courses. I’ve been in touch with the local job centres covering Newtown, Welshpool, Llandrindod Wells, Llanfair Caereinon, Llanidloes, Llanfyllin, Leominster, Shrewsbury etc. We have requested/set up open days Mon/Fri. All have job specs, leaflets, course details etc to advertise and aid with recruitment.

I’ve also emailed, or after work delivered primarily English flyers to all church’s, chapels, third sector organisations/charities in the area, library, WI, youth clubs/centre’s, all the high schools/Adult special learning schools in the area, Careers Wales, local shops, take away’s, pubs, sports centres, young carer’s organisations etc. in order to get the word out there. PCC are also assisting with sharing the same information. Staff here have also shared the information on their social media.

PCC have connected me with all the contacts for refugee’s that are already in the area, or are being re-located into Powys from Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Ukraine etc. They also have all the information at the job centre, post pandemic, and have offered for any interested parties to, if preferred, come to the factory between 10am and 3pm.

I truly hope that this will help to get the word out within Powys and surrounding areas which will help us to attract a lot more students onto this fantastic course.
