This week, commencing 11th March, began with a visit from a Graduate Diploma group from the London College of Fashion. Led by Fashion-Enter Ltd Director, Caroline Ash, she said: “We had a lovely group from LCF studying Buying and Merchandising. The group were well-schooled and had lots of relevant questions for me. I kept the seminar and tour in line with their studies and they were really nice group and a pleasure to teach.
Students commented:
“Lovely experience, I learned so much!”
“It was a really great experience. I loved actually being able to see everything in person. The speaker was really helpful / nice.”
“I loved seeing behind the scenes of making clothes! It was interesting, thank-you!”
“I have learnt more about AI advancements and more about factory processes. Thank-you!”
“I loved the factory tour and seeing all the AI technology in use. Touching and seeing the products was interesting too.”
Caroline continued: “We then had staff members from Seasalt Cornwall join us for the first time with their Garment Techs, Buyers Assistant’s, Design Assistants and a Quality Control Manager. This went amazingly well. They loved the tour and Styleverse Innovation Centre and felt all the information would really enhance their job roles. Their feedback was excellent.”
Seasalt feedback included:
“I found this seminar and tour very inspiring and informative and also quite alarming as it brought to life some really bad aspects of the industry, such as carbon emissions. Very friendly team and great to see the machines being used in real life.”
“I learnt about costings, 3D forward thinking, UK uses such as labour, ‘cabbage’. It was really informative and gives a great insight into the future of the fashion industry. Thanks so much!”
“Caroline is an amazing asset to the company / education centre here. Her passion, enthusiasm and knowledge is inspiring and very informative. Thank-you for providing today for us all when it is hard to visit international factories.”
“I learnt so much! Particularly about the production line and the level of QC checks that should be in place at factories. This course has been so insightful, certainly a lot of food for thought. It is nice to know that there is still garment production in the UK! Thank-you, I have thoroughly enjoyed it.”
