On Thursday 23rd July, Rachel Adelson-Kettle, Learning and Development Lead for Safeguarding Adults at Islington Council, delivered a workshop on safeguarding adults and cuckooing training with the tutors and students at the FTA Islington based at FC Designer Workspace.
The workshop covered safeguarding signs and awareness, how to report a concern and what to do if someone discloses a safeguarding issue, and cuckooing. It was a very engaging session, with case studies, discussions and Q&A.
Tutor Manuela Taveras said: “Our safeguarding for adults in social care training was extremely relevant to my role as a teacher. It brought to my attention signs to look for and what I can do about it. It was very welcoming and informative, and I enjoyed learning from her. I would highly recommend it to learners as well.”
Gintare Zeciene added: “Very informative. Learners talked about cookie safety online, where to report it, and how to report. We were given many real-life stories and examples. Thank you so much.”
