Pan-London Community of Practice for Independent Training Providers (ITPs)

On Friday 13th February 2026, Lan Leeder, Head of Education, attended the Pan-London Community of Practice for Independent Training Providers (ITPs) in London, City Hall. The event, led by the GLA’s Careers team, aims to bring together ITPs, London Careers Hubs, and sector stakeholders to further build a strong, collaborative network that supports transitions in technical and vocational education across the capital.

The Community of Practice aims to:

·       Promote the Gatsby Foundation’s Careers Education Guidance for Learners, a key resource for programme enhancement and Ofsted readiness.

·       Strengthen connections between ITPs and Careers Hubs to increase visibility and uptake of apprenticeship and technical routes.

·       Provide access to free resources, training, tools, and examples of effective provider-school engagement.

·       Support a more joined-up, pan-London approach to careers education across vocational and technical programmes.

·       With ITPs delivering most of the apprenticeship pathways in London, your insight is vital to shaping future work and improving learner transitions.

Lan Leeder said: “It was a great networking event with other independent training providers delivering apprenticeships and other post-16 courses. The ITP and career hubs need to work together to promote and signpost learners in school to training providers as an alternative to the traditional college route.”
