As part of the Fashion Technology Academy’s commitment to providing industry-ready learning, senior staff organised a Next Steps IAG (Information, Advice, and Guidance) session. The session is designed to ensure that each learner is on their chosen path and to determine how the FTA can further assist them through its sister company, FashionCapital.co.uk.
On October 2nd, Lan Leeder, Head of Education, and Jo Bean, Studio Manager and Tutor at the FTA Leicester, held a Learner’s Voice and Next Steps session with students finishing their course.
During the session, Lan and Jo discussed the next steps after Skills Bootcamp, including job searching, CV writing, and interview techniques. They also encouraged students to provide feedback on the course.
Aim of the session:
· To ensure that the learners’ aims are being met
· To find out if there are areas for improvement
· To confirm progression routes and next steps after the courses
· To provide quality IAG – Information Advice and Guidance for all learners – both Exit and Next Steps
· To ensure that the cross-section of learners was a representative of their cohort

· What fashion/vocational courses are available
· Fashion apprenticeship
· Studio space to rent
· The Fashion Studio
· Upskill with digital training
· How to start your own brand
Lan Leeder commented:
“It was wonderful to meet the learners today and gather their feedback on what is working well in the course, as well as areas for improvement. The session was highly interactive, featuring excellent questions, comments, and observations. Everyone expressed a strong eagerness to learn more and showed interest in the opportunities available after completing the course.”

After the session, Lan Leeder conducted a workshop on Style3D. During this workshop, Lan conducted a masterclass on AI, demonstrating how to use Style3D with a step-by-step approach. Following the demonstration, the learners had the opportunity to use Style3D to create some fantastic designs.
