New Level 3 Fashion and Business Course for 16 – 18 Year-Olds is a Big Hit

On Friday 22nd September a full cohort of learners, on the Capital City College Group Level 3 Fashion and Business course, attended the draping class based at the FC Designer Workspace in Islington.

Jenny Holloway, Fashion-Enter Ltd CEO, was undertaking observations of staff and noted how engaged and focused the learners were.

Jenny said: “We are working with the (Capital City College) CCCG group on a new younger learner. We were all quite concerned before the learners arrived as we had not taught this age group (16 – 18 year-olds) before. We undertook CPD and reviewed how to keep the learners engaged and it’s worked!  There have been no withdrawals and we are in week 3. We realised that we had to keep them vocationally engaged and keep paperwork to a minimum – kinaesthetic teaching is the way forward.”

Jenny continues: “Of course paperwork, literacy and numerical skills are firmly embedded into  the scheme of work but we must keep learners motivated and ensure we’re achieving the goals identified on the Individual learning plan.

“It’s refreshing to have such creative and hardworking learners each Wednesday and Friday.”
