On Saturday 7th December Esme, Operations Manager for the FTA, went to meet local businesses showcasing their creations at both Tottenham Town Hall and Bernie Grants Arts Centre during the Tottenham Winter Fest 2019.
Tottenham Winter Fest 2019 is an annual event which comprises of food, gifts, drinks and gift packs – Kidz Zone and craft making workshops, face painting and more. This coincided with the ‘Crafty North Londoner Makers Market’, full of very talented crafters and makers London has to offer, providing everything from handmade jewellery to stationary, home décor essentials to one-off pieces of art.
This was a great opportunity for Esme to promote the ‘N17 Creative Callings’ project, bringing awareness to the local community about the free bespoke business training, support and skills programme for people in the creative sector.
Amongst some of the makers Esme found a former learner from the Fashion Technology Academy, Ese Akopbaro, who had won the ‘Design an Outfit’ contest with us in 2017. Ese was supporting her sisters who were also involved in the event organisation. Long story short, turns out Ese is also eligible for the programme!
Esme commented: “It was a really great event where I had the pleasure of meeting and engage with talented people, some of which were eligible to gain support via the programme. We look forward to them joining!”
