On Friday 28th October Fashion-Enter Ltd’s Director, Caroline Ash and Head of Technical Development, Claire Solley, welcomed a small group of Garment Technologists from the long established high street brand – M&S.
Caroline commented: “I had M&S in for the factory tour and seminar today. As they were Garment Techs we were able to slant the session towards this subject with emphasis on garment construction, quality assurance, fitting and pattern cutting and reinforcing this with the factory tour.”
Gaining firsthand on-site experience for professionals working in the fashion industry is invaluable, by seeing the entire garment cycle from start to finish gives attendees a deeper insight and understanding that benefits their working career and their company as a whole. The garment techs were really engaged and asked lots of questions throughout.
Feedback included:
“I learnt in detail about the use of Optitex and its uses in fit, costings – how we can bring the price down and factories abroad and the issues we need to be aware of as techs. Really enjoyed the afternoon. It was really good to see production and have an insight into the operation of this factory. Thank-you so much!”
“I have learnt more in-depth practices that can help me be better at my job and understand it better. Very in-depth tour, very well organised, great presentation with lots of information. Really enjoyed visiting a working factory.”
