Fashion-Enter Ltd’s (FEL) Pattern Cutting tutor, Manuela Tavares, paid a visit (26/11/24) to the Leicester campus, Fashion Hub, to work with the current cohort of Skills Bootcamp, Stitching and Pattern students.
She said: ‘This was my first time visiting Leicester and our Fashion Hub premises. It was wonderful to see how well organised the team are and the beautiful space they have to offer our services. The students were all very comfortable and happy to be using our professional industrial machines, along with many other resources and equipment.
‘Leicester Fashion Hub is vibrant with learners from all cultural background and they all work together like a big family. It was very clear that the teachers have nurtured a brilliant professional relationship with their learners, and they all have wonderful aspirations.
‘I met a learner who works at a community centre promoting upcycling and repairs and she told me that she is so happy to have discovered the Fashion Hub, the team have supported her in so many ways. She is already using all the new skills she has learned in her community centre to help many more who are keen to support and promote sustainability within the fashion industry.
‘The London and Leicester FEL tutors have so much in common, we love teaching and supporting individuals to gain confidence in their skills. We look forward to working closely together more in future.’
