LCF Students Gain On-Site Fashion Manufacturing Insight

This week, commencing 15th April, Fashion-Enter Ltd Haringey welcomed two groups of students from the London College of Fashion. The students, studying Buying and Merchandising, have been set a project to create a sustainable range. FEL Director, Caroline Ash, adapted the popular seminar and tour to ensure all key points on range planning and sustainable manufacturing were covered.

Caroline said: “We had two very good seminars with the LCF Buying and Merchandising students. We did the usual tour but based it around their current project which was building a 20-piece sustainable range.”

The students commented:

“I have learnt about the advancement of AI in relation to fashion and speeding up the production process. You (Caroline) were lovely, thanks.”

“I heard about shipping from across seas and how now it’s way more sustainable to make in the UK. Learnt so much! Thanks!”

“It was interesting to see a factory in person and the overall process.”

“I learnt about 3D technology for sampling. Great info!”

“Thank-you for the time and it was great seeing what goes on.”

“I learnt about sustainable and effective ways to create own range of clothes. Amazing speaker! Very interesting topics.”

“I enjoyed seeing how one garment can be altered to make so many different options.”

“It was a great opportunity to grasp some numerical insights on things like – how long it takes to create a garment and approximate cost.”
