Islington World of Work Empower Project Celebration Event

The Islington World of Work Empower Project provides bespoke careers activities, delivered regularly throughout the year, to support students at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) after they turn 16. The participating students have engaged in tailored careers workshops and workplace visits designed to enhance their confidence, essential skills, and overall engagement with school.
On Friday 5th July Fashion-Enter Ltd was invited to celebrate the successful pilot year of the Empower Project, recognising the achievements of the students involved in the programme. The event featured student showcases and reflections on the programme. Additionally, a speed-networking session was held, allowing students to meet professionals and industry representatives whom they had not had the opportunity to meet during the project.
Lan Leeder, Head of Education at Fashion-Enter Ltd, attended the event, said: “It was great to meet the students, organisers, teachers, and employers involved in this project as we celebrated their achievement in completing the programme. The students had a fantastic experience during their session at Fashion-Enter’s FC Designer Workspace last week, where they learned how to use industrial machines and created a wallet to showcase at this event. I look forward to being involved in this project again for the next academic year.”
