On 22nd June 2026, Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) Haringey welcomed students from Leighton Park School for a bespoke factory seminar and tour designed to provide an insight into the fashion manufacturing industry.
Led by FEL Director Caroline Ash, the session explored every stage of the garment-making process, highlighting the importance of transparency, ethical production and sustainability within today’s fashion sector. Students also gained an understanding of fabric selection, production methods, economies of scale, and how emerging technologies, including AI, are influencing the future of fashion manufacturing.
The students were highly engaged throughout the visit, asking thoughtful and insightful questions that reflected a genuine interest in responsible fashion and the industry’s future. The seminar provided an excellent opportunity to introduce young people to the realities of UK garment manufacturing while encouraging them to think critically about the choices made throughout the fashion supply chain.

The accompanying school tutor commented:
“Thank you ever so much for a really enjoyable tour, the students really enjoyed it! I was very grateful for your fantastic tailoring of your talk to the students.”
Student feedback was equally positive:
“I learnt about the ethics of fast fashion, the type of market there is, different stitches, why some fabrics are more expensive – for example Italian fabric at £30–£40 per metre. The AI was very interesting. Fabulous speaker, kind, genuine and interesting.”
“I learnt a lot about fabric and economies of scale. It was fantastic, thank you.”
“I found out about the different types of production in fashion, ethics and sustainability and about the different stitches. Amazing!”
The visit demonstrates the value of connecting education with industry, helping students gain first-hand experience of ethical UK manufacturing while inspiring the next generation of fashion professionals.
Due to the exceptionally high temperatures experienced during the week’s heatwave, the remaining scheduled seminars were postponed and will be rearranged for a later date.
