On Monday, November 25th, three attendees from HMPS participated in a two-day industrial cutting course led by Chris Toumbu, Fashion-Enter Ltd’s factory manager.
They covered various topics related to industrial cutting, including understanding different fabric types, various cutting machines, proper cutting techniques, and creating a lay plan. The workshop also provided an overview of the cutting equipment and included discussions on timelines and efficiencies. Attendees experienced live cutting demonstrations and participated in a factory tour to assess the production process.
FEL’s Head of Education, Lan Leeder commented:
“Chris has years of experience, and it’s fantastic to see this group learning from someone like him, who can share his knowledge and skills with the HMPS trainers.”
Feedback from the attendees included:
‘Chris was a very good teacher. He knew what he was doing and kept us informed every step of the way. He was also very friendly, so I wasn’t afraid to ask questions.’
‘Chris delivered the course in a manner that allowed us to gain proper knowledge on following the correct procedures when cutting garments.’
