FTA Enhances Learner Survey to Strengthen Learner Experience

At the Fashion Technology Academy (FTA), we are committed to continuously improving the learning experience for every student. As part of this commitment since May 2026, we have introduced an enhanced Learner Final Survey, designed to provide more detailed insight into every aspect of our courses.

The updated survey includes a wider range of questions focusing on teaching, learning and assessment, alongside a new 1–10 scoring system. This enables us to gather more meaningful feedback from learners, helping us better understand what is working well and where further improvements can be made.

The survey explores key areas including programme delivery, teaching quality, learning resources, assessment, learner support and the overall learning experience. By capturing more detailed responses, we can ensure that learners’ voices directly influence how we develop and enhance our training programmes.

Results from the updated survey have been overwhelmingly positive, with learners praising the expertise of tutors, the supportive learning environment and engaging teaching sessions. High scores were also achieved for learners feeling respected throughout their course, recommending the FTA to others and believing the course met their expectations.

As with all feedback, the survey has also identified valuable opportunities for improvement. Learners highlighted the importance of receiving more guidance on progression opportunities, clearer assessment information and greater support with embedded English and maths throughout their studies.

In response, the FTA has already committed to a number of actions, including:

  • Delivering more comprehensive Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) sessions at the end of each cohort to help learners understand their next steps.
  • Updating course workbooks and learning materials to make assessment requirements clearer and easier to follow.
  • Further embedding English and maths skills throughout teaching sessions to support learners’ confidence and progression.

The introduction of the enhanced Learner Final Survey reflects the Fashion Technology Academy’s commitment to listening to learner feedback and using it to drive continuous improvement. By regularly reviewing and acting upon learner experiences, the FTA ensures its courses continue to deliver high-quality teaching, practical industry skills and a supportive learning environment that prepares learners for successful careers in the fashion and textiles industry.
