Free Taster Workshop For 16-18 Year-Olds

On Thursday 9th April, the Fashion Technology Academy (Islington campus) held a Free Sewing workshop for the 16+ to promote the UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Practice for September 2026.

The sewing workshop gave the learners a chance to use various industrial machines, learn basic sewing skills, and explore other courses at the FTA, particularly the UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication, a 2-year course for 16+ students starting in September. The workshop attracted a strong turnout, with prospective learners eager to enrol in the course.

During the session, participants learnt how to use industrial sewing machines, including threading, operating, and practising with various machines. They had the opportunity to speak with the teachers about the Level 3, review the portfolios, and ask questions about the course.
