Former FTA Learner and Apprentice Achieves Own Brand Success!

At the Fashion Technology Academy (FTA) we have always maintained that the very best designers know how to pattern cut, the late Alexander McQueen was an advocate for completely understanding your craft before creating your own signature.

Fashion designer and couturier Aimee Joyce has also taken this lead, exploring her creativity at Central Saint Martins she then undertook the Level 2 Perfect Pattern course with us at the FTA, as well as gaining experience via an apprenticeship with London’s only couture house Ralph & Russo.

She has since gone on to develop her own ‘Creating Heirlooms’ Aimee Joyce fashion brand and you can hear how she got the ball rolling with a bespoke dress for a well known socialite in this short YouTube video:

Which then led onto further commissions:

Over the last five years Aimee has been dedicated to growing her brand and this evening, Thursday 17th November, she is setting up a new shop at 302, Westbourne Grove. The shop will become the base for the Aimee Joyce brand as well as showcasing work by other creatives.

Congratulations to Aimee, she has worked incredibly hard and deserves her success.
