First Seminar & Tour of the Year

A new year and new start to our Factory Uncovered seminar and tour programme. These on-site, informative and interactive sessions are open to individuals / groups wanting to learn about manufacturing, business, sustainability and the garment making process.

Each seminar is adapted for each group to get the most out of the experience, whether it’s to complete coursework or gain more industry experience and understanding.

Held at Fashion-Enter Ltd’s (FEL) factory, repair, and learning facility in Haringey, London, FEL Director Caroline Ash welcomed the first group of 2025 (9th January), with a return visit from the University of Rhode Island.

The group included a diverse mix of students, ranging from third-year Fashion, Textiles, and Design students to those simply interested in the fashion industry. They gained valuable knowledge from the seminar and thoroughly enjoyed the factory tour.

Feedback included:

“I learnt how a non-profit textile manufacturing company fully operates and how current industry highlights and downfalls shape the way the business is done. Great job.”

“I found out much about how AI can be used in clothing production – that was so interesting. Thank-you!”

“I learned so much more about sustainability and how much it affects us. I also learned a lot about how a factory actually works and how much actually goes into making garments.”

“Asa a non-fashion major I learned a lot about that realm and what goes into designing and constructing clothing. The AI aspect was also very cool to see in action.”

“I learnt about sustainability – AI – I had never seen it in ‘action’. Very interesting. Great perspective for anyone in the fashion business.”
