The following was covered:
- · Common types of mental health issues and signs to look for
- · Definition of stress
- · Early warning signs
- · Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
- · Islington, Haringey and Leicester statistics and mental health services
Sanna said “I learned a lot from this CPPD. Having a degree in psychology, I was aware of the difficulties of mental health and how they affect individuals, but was really intrigued to see the statistics. It was great to hear Jenny and Lan talk in detail about the different ways that mental health affect us, whilst also providing us with personal experiences and exercises to do so that we can also keep a healthy mindset. I was given the opportunity to talk about mental health in Leicester which was great because I am not that confident with public speaking, having been diagnosed with Anxiety myself. But, I am so pleased with myself that I was able to take part and now be one step closer to being a more confident version of myself in public speaking. I loved that I was given the opportunity to speak in something that I was familiar with, whilst still researching something that was somewhat new, as I had never researched all of the available places within Leicester that can offer support for the community, especially those struggling with their mental health.”
Lan Leeder said, “It was great to come together and share our knowledge and understanding of mental health. It was helpful to hear about others’ experiences relating to mental health and to learn about the support and help available in London and Leicester.”
