FEL CPD Session on Safeguarding

Throughout the academic year, CPD days are organised, offered both remotely and on-site, to ensure that all Fashion-Enter Ltd / Fashion Technology Academy staff have opportunities to enhance their teaching practices and remain up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.

On 26th September 2025, teachers participated in an online safeguarding refresher CPD session led by Fashion-Enter Ltd’s Head of Education, Lan Leader. The purpose of the session was to raise awareness about safeguarding vulnerable adults, clarify legal responsibilities, and outline measures for their protection from harm.

The session covered the following:

– The term safeguarding and its meaning

– Key legislation surrounding safeguarding and their legal responsibilities

– The role of the designated safeguarding lead

– How to identify signs of abuse and the risk factors involved

– How to determine capacity

– How to respond to any concerns about a vulnerable adult

– How to act if information is disclosed to them by a vulnerable adult

– Safeguarding recruitment procedures

– How to report their concerns and the importance of doing so

– How to record their concerns

– Social care roles in the safeguarding process

Feedback from the tutors included: “This was a great refresher on safeguarding; the last session was around in May, so it’s good to give a refresher on how to identify the signs of abuse and how to report a safeguarding concern. Safeguarding is very important, especially in an educational setting, and this CPD is a great way to remind myself how to tackle safeguarding.”
