Fashion Enter recently (15th November 2017) held a ‘Garment Production Workshop’ at the Fashion Textile and Design Centre (FTDC) in Derry City and Strabane District Council of Londonderry, Northern Ireland…
Working in conjunction with the Fashion & Textile Design Hub the aim is to create a programme that emerging talents in the textile and Design industry can really benefit from. This was one of the first of three workshops introduced to the designers led by our sister company Fashion Enter and Production Director Caroline Ash.
The workshop began with Caroline informing guests about Fashion Enter and the services it provides such as the Fashion Studio for sampling and grading and the Factory where 10,000 garments are produced ethically for the retailers including ASOS.com and Marks & Spencer.
The workshop continued on to the breakdown of garment production, ethical manufacturing, visiting a factory, Far East production versus European and much more. Demonstrations and practical sessions were involved as well and designers gained further insight into how an ethical factory is run and the rules and regulations of garment manufacturing.
Ultimately the Production Workshop was a huge success and we look forward to future collaborations with the Fashion & textile Design Centre.

Fashion Enter will continue to support this programme well into 2018 and 10 designers from Derry will visit Fashion Enter’s Factory and learning facility in the New Year.
