Phase Eight was established in 1979 by Patsy Seddon when she opened its first store in Wandsworth Common, London in order to design and sell clothes that satisfied a sophisticated taste but were affordable and practical. Her initial success has continued to this day.

 

Phase Eight has 100+ stores in the UK and 200+ concessions within department stores including House of Fraser, Debenhams, Fenwick and the John Lewis Partnership, as well as a number of independent department stores in the UK. Job Title

Garment Technologist Apprentice

Job role

An opportunity has arisen for an apprentice position in the Garment Technology department. The role will cover working on accessories with our buyers and suppliers, giving you an understanding of the product cycle from concept through to delivery.

You will also be required to provide some support to the technical team, duties may include some of the following as some examples :

  • Administration work in the form of data entry
  • Measuring samples
  • Assisting in fit sessions

This will allow you to gain an understanding across the different product areas and develop your skills in the technical department.

Person Specification

  • You should have a high level of attention to detail with a can do attitude
  • Proactive in regards to problem solving
  • Demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative
  • Enthusiastic with a friendly and flexible manner
  • An excellent team player with strong work ethic and excellent time management skills
  • Warm personable approach

Key skills and experience

  • You should be studying for a degree or equivalent qualification in technology
  • A basic understanding of garment construction advantageous

You will be fully supported in your role here, working with a fun experienced team.

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship is an 18 month programme where you work with your employer four days a week and attend the Fashion Technology Academy one day a week for your training.
