FTA Fashion Hub in Leicester recently had the privilege of attending the SOS Charity Fashion Show, 27th November, hosted by the Peepul Centre, held in support of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women & Girls. The event brought together community members, partners, and supporters to celebrate courage, raise awareness, and honour women reclaiming their lives after experiencing violence.
Honouring 11 Inspiring Women
At the heart of the evening were 11 remarkable women who completed the Peepul Centre’s Resilience Programme for survivors of violence. Their journeys have been defined by strength, determination, and the refusal to be silenced. Some of these inspiring participants even stepped onto the runway themselves, embodying confidence and empowerment as they showcased their personal growth.

A Runway of Style and Solidarity
Attendees were treated to an exclusive fashion experience featuring the latest high-street trends from leading designers, including: Dorothy Perkins, River Island, New Look, Topshop, Next, Monsoon, White Stuff, Wallis, Miss Selfridge, Evans, along with a stunning selection of French and Italian designer wear offered at significantly discounted prices.
The fashion show offered more than style, it created a vibrant space for celebration, connection and visibility for survivors and their achievements.

Connecting with the Community
Leicester’s FTA Fashion Hub were proud to host a stall at the event, where we promoted our courses and engaged with a diverse group of attendees. Many of the women we met have faced profound challenges, and the Peepul Centre’s Resilience Programme continues to support them in rebuilding confidence, strength and independence.
The Violence Against Women’s Resilience Project has been particularly inspiring. Throughout the programme, the 11 participants demonstrated extraordinary growth, supporting one another week after week as they rediscovered their identities and reclaimed their power. The project has cultivated a safe and empowering environment, one where every woman’s voice is heard, valued, and celebrated.
Our Continued Commitment
We remain dedicated to supporting these women beyond the programme by offering skills training, qualifications, and employability courses. Our goal is to help them continue their journey towards independence, opportunity, and long-term success.
We are also incredibly proud that one of our learners from the Skills Bootcamp programme was among the participants who walked the runway. Watching her shine on stage was a powerful reminder of what confidence, support and resilience can achieve.
