Babson College Fashion Entrepreneurship Students Explore Ethical Manufacturing at Fashion-Enter Ltd

On 20th May 2026, a group of Fashion Entrepreneurship students from Babson College in Massachusetts visited Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) for its acclaimed Factory Uncovered seminar and factory tour, gaining firsthand insight into the realities of ethical garment production and modern fashion manufacturing.

Led by FEL Director Caroline Ash, the visit offered students a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s award-winning ethical factory, where they were able to observe each stage of the garment production process up close. The seminar was specifically tailored to align with the students’ focus on fashion entrepreneurship, combining practical manufacturing knowledge with broader industry insights.

Speaking about the visit, Caroline Ash said: “Babson College from Massachusetts came back for another visit this week, and it was great to have them again. Since they are studying Fashion Entrepreneurship, we tailored the seminar to focus heavily on that. They were really engaged by the tour and loved seeing the production process up close. The AI section was a particular hit too, especially as they’ll be covering it in a few weeks.”

Throughout the tour, students learned about garment development, sampling, production timelines, quality control, and the level of craftsmanship required to manufacture clothing responsibly and efficiently. The visit also explored how emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, are beginning to shape the future of fashion production and supply chains.

Students shared overwhelmingly positive feedback following the experience, highlighting both the educational value and the opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world industry practices.

One student commented:

“I learnt a lot about how the manufacturing process works and all the steps in it. Amazing tour!”

Additional feedback included:

I learnt what to look out for when visiting future manufacturers. It was great!”

“I found out about the time and detail that goes into making each garment. Amazing!”

“I learnt so much about production and the depth of the clothing design and making process. 10 out of 10.”

The Factory Uncovered seminar continues to attract universities, brands, and industry professionals seeking greater transparency and education around ethical UK garment manufacturing, sustainability and innovation within the fashion industry.
