Alvanon Generously Supports The New FC Fashion Technology Academy Leicester

Alvanon, the global innovations company specialising in fit and sizing for the apparel industry, has continuously supported the educational division of Fashion-Enter Ltd by providing Alvaform technical fit mannequins and bursaries for stitching and pattern cutting students.

The Alvanon team recognise the urgent need for new talent to train and gain expertise in fashion technical skills and once again they have agreed to generously support the new FC Fashion Technology Academy in Leicester with the offer of 22 Alfaform mannequins.

Alvanon CEO Janice Wang stated: “Firstly I must take this opportunity to congratulate you on the impending opening of Fashion-Enter’s new FC Fashion Technology Academy, FCFTA, in Leicester. You have demonstrated what can be achieved through determination and collaboration and your partnership with Leicester City Council and the clothing manufacturer Ethically Sourced Products Limited is another example of what can be achieved if we work together.

“To this end it is with the very greatest pleasure that Alvanon will donate a full set of men’s, women’s and children’s physical Alvaform mannequins and fit tools to your new FCFTA in Leicester. The donation comprises of 22 forms plus accessories with a retail value of £38,585.”

The FCFTA Leicester will be a new textiles skills centre, set up collaboratively between Leicester City Council, Fashion-Enter Ltd and local clothing company Ethically Sourced Products Ltd, that will deliver apprenticeships and accredited training for the textiles industry.

The new academy will offer people the opportunity to work towards entry-level qualifications in core industry skills including pattern-making, fabric inspection, laying and cutting, machine maintenance and stitching. People can then work towards advanced certificates and progress onto one of Fashion-Enter’s apprenticeship schemes for retail/etail employers.

Jenny Holloway, CEO of Fashion-Enter Ltd commented: “I thank my lucky stars that I met Janice Wang, Alvanon CEO, over 14-years ago at the Drapers conference. She has proved herself again to be a lifelong friend as well as a true professional in the fashion industry. We are so very grateful for Alvanon’s kind support again providing mannequins for our FTA (Leicester) training program. The donation is almost £40k and Fashion Enter Ltd is literally over the moon that the that we can now teach our stitching and perfect patterns courses using the best body forms in the UK today.”

The new FC Fashion Technology Academy Leicester is planning to open in the summer (2021), following refurbishment of the new premises, with delivery of an initial taster programme.
