Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) is delighted to confirm that Kurt Hintz is an active Non-Executive Director (NED) Advisor on Fashion-Enter’s advisory board, specifically focusing on the acclaimed educational skills development undertaken by the Fashion Technology Academy
- Appointment: He officially joined the newly formed Non-Executive Director Board on 16th December 2025 to support FEL’s governance, strategic oversight, and educational framework.
- Focus Areas: He works directly with the CEO and Founder Jenny Holloway and Head of Education Lan Leeder on the academy’s quality assurance monitoring systems. Since joining he has been instrumental in reviewing learner progress frameworks, helping the academy meet Ofsted’s expected standards, and expanding their specialist training partnerships with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) schools.
Kurt Hintz Career Summary
Kurt Hintz is a highly regarded educational leader with nearly 30 years of experience specialising in further education management, curriculum innovation, and financial turnarounds. Jenny personally worked with Kurt when he was at Conel – College of North East London where Fashion-Enter was the first in the country to undertake the apprenticeship program for fashion working alongside Skillset at the time which is now part of UKFT. Since 2008 Jenny has built up a strong professional working relationship with Kurt that has benefited 1000s of learners over 17 year period.
Kurt has had an incredible career:
- Early Career: He began his teaching career as an engineer in further education in New Zealand in 1998, before moving to the UK in 2004.
- Capital City College Group (CCCG): He spent 15 years rising through senior leadership roles, starting as a Curriculum Director at CONEL (where he first collaborated with FEL CEO Jenny Holloway to build a joint Fashion Academy) and eventually becoming Executive Principal. He oversaw 11 London college sites serving 30,000 students and successfully wiped out a £10 million structural deficit while improving the group’s Ofsted rating.
- Interim CEO & Principal Leadership: Following his time at CCCG, he transitioned into high-level interim turnaround consultancy. He served as the Interim Principal and CEO of Petroc College in North Devon in 2024 and stepped into his current role as Interim Principal and CEO of HSDC (Havant and South Downs College) in January 2026.
- Additional Governance: Beyond his advisory board work at Fashion-Enter, he serves as a trustee for OCN London and Ambitious about Autism, and is heavily involved in regional skills strategy and integration of EdTech.
With the Ofsted inspection in November 25 on the new framework there were two standards not met.
• Leaders should ensure that governors have a sufficiently thorough oversight of the quality of curriculum, teaching and training so that they can provide a high level of scrutiny, challenge and educational insight.
• Leaders should further strengthen professional development so that tutors further improve their pedagogy and consistently apply expert teaching techniques to teach apprentices and learners of varied abilities.
Jenny Holloway commented. “We did have strong evidence to support our pedagogy with SEND including videos and case studies but we accepted the findings from the Ofsted inspectors and set about improving our delivery further. We agreed that our NED board had to change and asking Kurt to be the lead on quality assurance for the Fashion Technology Academy was important for us. We were absolutely thrilled when he agreed to support us and within the last few months we have carefully listened to his advice and guidance and already seen impacted new processes and teaching that has improved our delivery of working with all learners.
