On Friday 3rd July 2026, Lan Leeder, FEL / FTA Head of Education, participated in a CV workshop at the City of London Academy Highgate Hill in Islington. The workshop aims to support Year 10 students with their CVs and to encourage them to practise mock interviews with potential employers.

The aim of the mock interview:
- Learning how to use the STAR technique effectively during interviews.
- Understanding common interview questions and showing their knowledge, skills, and talents.
Over 30 students participated in the workshop with Lan, which provided a great opportunity for Fashion-Enter to inform them about the fashion industry and the different jobs available after their GCSEs in fashion and textiles.
Lan Leeder said: “It was great working with the young people; they were very enthusiastic and confident about their next steps. I enjoyed supporting the Year 10 with their mock interviews, an essential skill for communicating clearly and confidently with potential employers.”
By engaging directly with schools through practical workshops like this, the FTA is helping to equip young people with the confidence, communication skills, and industry awareness they need to take their first steps into employment. From developing strong CVs and interview techniques to introducing students to the wide range of careers available within the fashion and textiles sector, the FTA is committed to supporting the next generation in becoming work-ready and inspiring them to pursue rewarding career opportunities.
