Esher Sixth Form Business Students Learn From FEL’s Factory in Haringey

On 5th June, Fashion-Enter Ltd and the FTA Haringey campus welcomed two groups from Esher Sixth Form for a Factory Uncovered seminar and tour.

Led by FEL Director Caroline Ash, she said: “We had two return visits this week from Esher Sixth Form College, with students studying Business. Both seminars were extremely well received and really lively – questions and comments were coming thick and fast throughout, which made for great engagement.

“The students particularly enjoyed seeing the production process firsthand and we walked through clear examples of economies of scale in action, which really brought their theory to life. The tutors were really pleased too and said they could use my examples with confidence as a foundation for their future lessons.

“Always a pleasure to host them again.”

The students responded to the experience with the following feedback:

“I learnt about the implications of the fashion industry and the growing concern for ethical behaviours. I loved the expedition here, it was enthralling.”

“I learnt how unethical ways lead to more profit. Extremely grateful for the experience.”

“I learnt about fashion and how fashion is produced and sourced.”

“I found out about the process of making garments, it was good.”

“I learnt about individual processes involved in making clothes and repairing them. Really good thanks.”
