Jenny Holloway Attends Inaugural Pan-London Careers Community of Practice Meeting

On 22nd May 2025, Jenny Holloway attended the inaugural meeting at City Hall to discuss the key messages for the Pan-London Careers Community of Practice for Independent Training Providers. With ITPs delivering most apprenticeship routes across London, the Community of Practice provides careers support to advance the ambitions of the Inclusive Talent Strategy, helping to build an employer-led careers ecosystem that ensures every Londoner can reach their potential.

The event brings together ITPs, the Greater London Authority (GLA), the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC), and the four London Careers Hubs, all working collaboratively to improve transitions into apprenticeships and technical education for young Londoners.

Aims:

•                  Build partnerships with Careers Hubs

•                  Share latest guidance and resources to support learners

•                  Strengthen support for transitions into vocational and technical education

•                  Join us to connect, collaborate and contribute to a thriving community of practice improving

Objectives:

·        To provide a moment to bring together London apprenticeship providers (ITPs, colleges, universities), London’s four Careers Hubs, the CEC and the GLA to understand our shared agenda around careers and progression support and potential future collaboration.

·        To create an opportunity for providers and Careers Hub colleagues to build relationships and develop an understanding of their respective offers and complementary activities to engage students, teachers and parents.

·       To share learning and support within a Community of Practice environment, emphasising quality progression and improving the learner journey.

It was a great event for networking and bringing together like-minded independent training providers to understand what they offer and to explore ways to improve the learner’s journey.
