The Genuine Fund Supports FTA Learners with £15,000 Donation

The Fashion Technology Academy (FTA) is delighted to announce that it has received a generous donation of £15,000 from The Genuine Fund to support training for unemployed individuals looking to upskill and build a brighter future in the fashion industry.

This funding will provide opportunities for 12 learners to gain recognised qualifications in fashion and textiles – 8 students on the SEG Awards Level 2 Certificate in Fashion and Textiles (Stitching Academy) and 4 students on the SEG Awards Level 1 Certificate in Fashion and Textiles (Multi-Disciplines).

The courses, delivered by FTA’s experienced tutors, are designed to give students both technical skills and employability support – from mastering industrial sewing techniques and garment construction to learning about the fashion production process.

Many of the participants are currently out of work and are eager to either start their own businesses or gain employment in the sector. This donation allows them to access fully funded training and a pathway into sustainable careers.

Jenny Holloway, CEO of Fashion-Enter Ltd, commented:

“We are incredibly grateful to The Genuine Fund for their generous support. This funding is directly changing lives by helping unemployed individuals gain essential skills, confidence, and industry-recognised qualifications. These courses don’t just teach stitching – they open doors to employment and self-employment opportunities in fashion and textiles.”

The Genuine Fund’s donation reflects a shared commitment to education, opportunity, and social mobility – enabling individuals to thrive while supporting the future of ethical and sustainable fashion in the UK.
