Overall purpose of the role:  

You will be assisting the design sales and production teams during the entire production cycle.  You will be involved in the whole process from initial design development; conducting research, sketching, compiling trend boards, helping produce spec packs to send to factories, fabric sourcing and much more!  You will also be expected to assist the sales and production teams with fabric & trim orders and general admin tasks where needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and packing raw materials to send to factories for production.
  • Assisting with logistical package deliveries and collections, inclusive of product collections from manufacturers & customers.
  • Daily co-ordination and organisation of fabrics and trims.
  • Sourcing prints, re colouring & re touching where necessary
  • Creating trend boards/print boards to send to mills & customers
  • Assisting production team with admin & help on sales
  • Liaising with customers & suppliers on a regular basis
  • Measuring samples ready for fitting – helping garment techs & pattern cutters where possible.
  • General design room administration tasks.

  • Highly organized, able to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Photoshop and/or Illustrator, Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.

You Will Learn / Receive Training On:

  • Measuring samples and production size set
  • Understanding of garment construction
  • Gain a good knowledge of a variety of fabrics and trims and their suitability to styles.
  • Working with print placement and fabric direction/ layplan
  • How to work to a schedule / Time Management
  • Gain an understanding of the production life cycle.
  • How to create detailed specs & cost sheets to send to factories.
  • How to work independently towards a customer brief

The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship is an 18 month programme where you work with your employer four days a week and attend the Fashion Technology Academy one day a week for your training.
