Ife Efundayo

Ife Efundayo has now successfully completed the Level 2 Stitching Academy where she further developed her garment construction skills and tailoring techniques.

Ife has always been interested in fashion, she studied Fashion and Textiles in college but felt she needed further training to really hone in on her technical skills. She was exactly right! As a designer it is so important to have an understanding of how your own designs are actually constructed. To understand what machinery to use, the various methods of construction, how to apply technical drawing techniques and so much more is imperative and Ife knew if she wanted to further her career then a practical, hands on course like the Stitching Academy was the answer.

Ife’s aim was to learn how to make her own designs in a more professional way. She also felt it was important to enhance her understanding of how patterns are created. Towards the end of the 18 week course learners are tasked with producing a garment from start to finish that incorporates elements such as a collar, cuff, pocket and button holes. This ensures the learner leaves with an understanding of what it takes to create a complex garment step by step.

Ife’s future goals are to now spend time working on her first collection and growing her brand. Following the course Ife commented -

‘I am really pleased to have trained at Fashion Enter. I would like to thank the FTA team for informing my employer advisor of this amazing opportunity. I will pursue my passion for fashion whilst working in Marketing and Communications.’

We are confident Ife will do well with her own label, we look forward to seeing her on the catwalk!
