Isatu Harrison joined the Level 1 Stitching Academy in 2015. She had embarked on her own fashion label Izelia but was looking for advice and guidance on how to take it to the next level.
She commenced with the Stitching Academy so she could understand the basic construction of a garment to further her design capability. Excelling on the Level 1 six-week course with technician Melissa Isatu quickly progressed onto the more advanced Level 2 course where her ability to create a whole garment quickly developed.
Isatu (pictured right) also effectively utilised Fashion Enter’s business support for new designers and took out a mentoring package with CEO Jenny Holloway. This combined with Isatu’s growing technical skills elevated her business to the next level.
Today we are delighted to see Izelia doing so well. Click here to see her in Frost Magazine showcasing at London Fashion Week.
Policy Advisor Jane Fyle has also worn one of her creations to collect her MBE (pictured above).
‘It was thrilling to see 'Janet Fyle' Policy Adviser at the royal college of Midwives wearing an Izelia design as she went to Buckingham Palace to collect a much deserved MBE for her inspiring work on behalf of the Royal College of Midwives. These photograph shows her at the Palace, receiving her award. She looks stylish in her specially created Izelia outfit: fit for royalty!’
