Julia Burrows - Perfect Pattern Cutting Tutor
Name and course? Julia Burrows, Perfect Patterns levels 1 and 2

What is your background? BA fashion designer, 30 years working as a designer / head designer, suppling high street multiple which include 15 years designing for M&S suppliers. I have worked in South Africa and the UK, with manufacturing site home basted and off shore. Throughout my career I have cut pattern for my designs and have been in charge of the sample room and pattern cutting studio.
Areas of expertise? Fashion Design, Pattern cutting, Costings, Budgeting, Range planning, Presentation.
Why do you teach? I love working with our students, passing on my knowledge to others and seeing my students grow in conference as pattern cutter.
Why should anyone go on your course? Our courses teach a real skill that opens the door to working in fashion, whether it be in industry, self-employed or as a home sewer
What do you hope for your learners? They will learn and understand the processes of pattern cutting to be able to work independently so when leaving they have the skills required to practice and advance their pattern cutting.
What do you do when you are not teaching? I work as a freelance. Run a small on line business. Hope to soon write an easy to follow pattern cutting book. I do Zumba, look after my family and walk my dog.
