Now is the Time to Recycle and Repurpose in Fashion and Textiles

We are teaching all of our learners about sustainable fashion from reusing the fabric scraps from the cutting table in the factory to recycling the clothes that are seconds in the factory too.

We reuse everything and we demonstrate what we preach by taking our learners to the FashTech Innovation Centre by Kornit and Fashion-Enter at the neighbouring unit 4.

Fashion-Enter’s factory is the only UK company that has a leading status in the ethical and technical Fast Forward audit and is also SMETA audited. The factory is focused on fast-track quality fashion producing bulk production, from idea concept to delivery, using stock cloth, within a two – three week time frame using an internal system called Galaxius. The Galaxius Management Information System shows complete transparency on who made what and when providing data on real time standard minutes and earnings.

Sustainability and our impact on the environment are pressing concerns for the fashion industry and change to old business design models on mass production are a long time overdue. This is why we are creating two new services that’s right for the current climate…

1. Pre-loved – if you have an item at home that you can’t part with because of a special memory / it’s a go-to favourite, or it’s a fantastic fit for your silhouette then Fashion-Enter Ltd can help repair, or can take a pattern from the garment and remake the style. We can also take up long sleeves to short sleeves, trousers to shorts, embellish and create a new design for you from the pattern for you.

2. Upcycled – this is really aimed at retailers having dead stock that they cannot shift. Obviously price is at a premium so we are mindful of costs and doing a good job quickly. As an example a job has just come in for changing 36,000 labels for a leading etailer.
