Since the beginning of September the FC Tailoring Academy has reopened to teach a new cohort of students the specialist skills that such a highly precise profession requires. The state-of-the-art Tailoring Academy, based alongside the Fashion Technology Academy in north London, is fully equipped and provides plenty of space for students to learn whilst being socially distanced.
Tailoring Academy Technician, Francesco Vuoto, has over nine-years of tailoring industry experience in Italy, Switzerland and the UK and has a wealth of expertise to pass on to tailoring students at all levels. He currently has taken Daniel and Rosin on the Level 3 Intermediary Certificate in Tailoring and Verity on the Level 3 Award Introductory programme under his wing. All three learners are presently working on the hand basting unit.
Francesco said: “I am really proud to teach bespoke tailoring to promising and passionate young people, at the FC Tailoring Academy whose primary objective is to train excellent professionals and make the learners feel fulfilled.”
Learner Verity added: “We are all having a great time! We have learned so much and Francesco is an amazing teacher, this is best course I’ve done.”
All the Tailoring courses are very hands-on right from the start and include handcrafting techniques, basic blocks, pattern cutting and construction techniques and range from 5 – 18 weeks depending on the course level.
On successful completion the learners can go on to develop their skills further on the Accelerator Diploma course, apply for an apprenticeship or utilise their skills in the workplace. To find out more about the Tailoring courses at the FC Tailoring Academy tap here.
