At the Buyers Meet & Greet event held at Athena last week, 16th June, the FCFTA Leicester team officially launched the Leicester Made Directory www.leicestermade.co.uk
Leicester Made is a free to use online directory for anyone who would like to source and make in Leicester. The area is at the heart of textiles and garment making in the UK, and has a diverse mix of talented and ethically minded businesses. This directory showcases a selection of these businesses ranging from; printers, knitwear manufacturers, fashion houses through to fabric, embroidery and label services. Leicester truly offers the full end-to-end supply base for textiles and garment making.
Manufacturers’ showcased include the likes of Barcode Design, along with their company information, services and recent audits Barcode Design have their own online shop linked to Leicester Made, currently it features 24 styles that can be shipped directly to you. This really is the future for on demand shopping – direct from manufacturer to consumer.
FCFTA Leicester manager Jackie said: “Its been an absolute pleasure working with Barcode Design, as part of the Community Renewal Fund. They have embraced new approaches and been involved on all aspects of the Fund. I wish them lots of success with their first online shop. Over time it would be great to have more “shops” available on LeicesterMade.co.uk.”
