The Latest from Leicester – 15th November

As another learning cohort comes to a close it’s great to hear from students about their experience at the FCFTA.

Darrion is just completing the Level 1 Award in Fashion and Textiles – Stitching and is about to embark on Level 1 Patterns…

How did you hear about the course?

D: I heard about FCFTA via Business2Business. They put me forward as I’m interested in fashion and will benefit from the course.

What have you learnt from the Level 1 course?

D: Whilst being on the course I have learnt new skills/terms that I wouldn’t have known about before, such as overlocking, cover stitching and how to thread multiple machines.

These are key elements of sewing that I can utilise in life and during my time after as I do want to go onto starting up my own atelier/design house.

What are your next steps?

D: I look forward to moving onto pattern making as I can further grow my skills and learn everything I possibly can.

Would you recommend the course?

D: I would definitely recommend FCFTA as I have learnt a lot whilst being here due to it being a welcoming environment with personable tutors.

If you are interested in learning skills in Industrial Sewing and Garment making the FCFTA Leicester is enrolling now. To enquire please contact: Divya@Fashion-Enter.com  These courses are free for those on low income or in receipt of JSA or UC and live in Leicester.
