Students and Industry Professionals Learn From FEL’s Factory Floor

It has been another busy week with educational Factory Uncovered tours and continuous, professional development seminars at Fashion-Enter Ltd’s (FTA) Haringey HQ.

Led by FEL Director Caroline Ash, the week began (6th February 2023) with a group of students from the Fashion Retail Academy in London. Caroline said: “We had a group from Level 4 Buying In today. They asked some great questions and got an insight from the supplier perspective and learnt how vital good relationships are.”

Mid-week Caroline guided two groups from Ravensbourne University London around the factory, explaining each stage of the garment production and how new technology is supporting compliance and sustainability. She added: “Two groups from Ravensbourne joined this week for our Factory Tour and Seminar. They were amazed at the speed that garments are made at and keen to understand the roles of each machinist and the garment lifecycle.”

The week rounded off with a group of employees from M&S where Caroline provided a CPPD session. Caroline commented: We always enjoy us having M&S with us for the Factory CPPD Seminar. As well as Merchandising we had a PR specialist. They had never visited a factory before and found the whole process fascinating.”
