K Sewing Machines (UK) Ltd has kindly agreed to support the new Stitching Academy located at Fashion-Enter Ltd, Newtown, Wales with a generous grant.
K Sewing Machines has been in the business for over 30-years, repairing, servicing and supplying sewing machines for factories, shops and home users.
The first cohort of Stitching Academy learners will commence with the Level 1 course from the 17th January 2022.
Kyri Kyriakides from K Sewing said: “K Sewing won the quote to supply Fashion-Enter’s new factory in Newtown. We were so pleased that Fashion-Enter saved almost 70 skilled jobs from being lost when Laura Ashley closed.
“When I heard that Wales was now opening a Stitching Academy in Newtown with Newtown College we just had to support this great way forward to create a new generation of stitchers.
“Good luck to all the new learners who will be enrolling in the next two weeks.”
Fashion-Enter Wales is working in collaboration with NPTC Group of Colleges to provide this Level 1, 6-week accredited course. This course teaches learners how to operate an industrial sewing machine and a range of basic sewing techniques and has already seen success at Fashion-Enter London and Leicester.
The Newtown Stitching Academy course is completely FREE for anyone over the age of 16 and provides a fantastic opportunity to progress onto employment or an apprenticeship.
