On 20th June 2022, Helen Walczak provided an informal enrichment session at Fashion-Enter Ltd HQ in Haringey.
Helen has 30+ years working in the fashion industry, focused in garment technology and is a highly experienced leader in managing sourcing, product development, compliance and CSR.
She spoke to our current cohort of apprentices and discussed her career journey along with the following topics:
• Career Planning: In sourcing, CSR , technical and QC and the changing roles and opportunities available in this sector and the new hard and soft skills that are required to succeed.
• Sourcing & Supply Chain: Transparency within the supply chain and how to negotiate in sourcing etc.
• Corporate Social Responsibility: Where it started and where it is going.
• Technical and Quality Control: The changing roles and opportunities available, new skills that are required (both hard and soft).
Following Helen’s talk the group were encouraged to ask questions and make the most of her knowledge and expertise.
