Ministerial Visit Margot James

On Thursday 11th January 2018, we will be welcoming Parliamentary Under- Secretary of State for Small Business, Consumers & Corporate Responsibility, Margot James MP for Stourbridge to the Fashion Technology Academy.

Margot James was first elected as the conservative Member of Parliament for Stourbridge in 2010. With years of experience serving in Parliament her tiles include; former Vice Chairman of the Conservative Party for women’s issues, former Assistant Government Whip and former Parliamentary Private Secretary to Lord Green. On 18th July 2016, Margot was appointed by the new Prime Minister, Theresa May, to serve as Parliamentary under Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. As well as having a successful political career, Margot James is also a successful businesswoman.

The educational visit with Margot James restates the importance on skills development in Fashion and garment manufacturing. Margot James will be shown the Fashion Technology Academy ABC accredited courses such as Stitching Academy and Perfect Patterns, Production Skills courses, Bespoke Tailoring courses and the Apprenticeships we provide. Students and Apprentice’s will meet with Margot James and showcase their work and portfolios.
