Staff From George at ASDA Take Our CPPD Factory Tour

On 8th September, Production Director, Caroline Ash and Head of Technical Development, Claire Solley welcomed a group from the George at ASDA head office for an informative CPPD. The session included a seminar in the glass room followed by a walk and talk factory tour. The group was able to experience garment development from start to finish along with gaining knowledgeable insights at each stage of the process.

Caroline Ash commented: “We had four delegates from George at ASDA in for the CPPD factory seminar. Even though it was a small group, they all came from different job roles – buying, merchandising, design and sourcing. This made for an interesting session with questions covering all areas and lively debates. They were fascinated by the digital technology we have on-site and the future of the fashion industry.”

The group were engaged and enthusiastic throughout, feedback included:

“I learnt all aspects of the product life cycle and the “life” of a factory. It was really insightful to see it from the other side, particularly as someone that’s interested in fashion but not from that background.

“The day was absolutely fabulous, very insightful. Both speakers were excellent and it was clear they both had a wealth of knowledge an experience.”

“Thank-you! Incredibly informative and welcoming. Really enjoyed it. I will recommend to new staff.”

“I gained more in-depth knowledge of a working factory, how each machine is used. Also a clear insight into the future of fashion.”

“Thank-you, very relevant to my job / course. It was interesting to see the machinery / employees in real life.”
