Maintaining Up to Date Knowledge of the Industry Market and Trends

Business constantly evolves and fashion, in particular, changes at a rapid pace, therefore it is essential to keep up-to-date with the market and its trends. As a leading provider of fashion qualifications and apprenticeships, Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL), encourages staff and learners to regularly attend industry events such as exhibitions, trade shows and industry talks.

Where possible members of the FEL team attend catwalk shows and presentations at the bi-annual London Fashion Week for firsthand insight into developing trends, in terms of fabrics, colours, silhouettes and conceptual ideas.

FEL CEO Jenny Holloway commented: “It’s extremely important that all of our tutors use-up-to-date with pertinent information and images.

“We’re teaching fashion and production skills and this is one of the most disruptive sectors at the moment. Last year etail was flying as people had COVID and shopped from home. This year in 2022 people want to meet up with friends, family and loved ones and shop. Bricks and mortar lead!

“Where possible we encourage our learners to attend industry events and we update the workbooks and resources. If we are to have our students industry ready then they need to be taught using the latest technologies and trends.”

FEL, as a part of every course, ensures that every learner knows about new industry technologies coming through such as Kornit Digital, Zund, Galaxius Systems, Optitex and Gerber. The FEL ethos is one of ‘continual learning’ for staff that is then passed on to the learners.
