Work Experience at FCFTA Leicester
It was a pleasure to have Lily spend a week at FCFTA Leicester on work experience, whoever said work experience had to be boring! Lily’s week certainly was not!
During her week Lily supported on administration, sample management and was able to have hands-on experience in making. With the support from Raheal, one of our incredibly talented patterns and stitching learners, Lily created this fantastic tote bag. All of the materials were either recycled or end of roll products that would be destined for waste.
Deputy CEO Jackie Bertram said: “The demand for repurposing and creating something new out of discarded product is continuing to grow. People are incredibly creative and with a few basic skills can really make their own product. Lily and Raheal worked so well together and great to see their talent shine through.”

The sense of camaraderie and support from learner to learner is fantastic and really makes the FCFTA a special place to learn. Huge thanks to all of the learners and teachers in making this a great 6 months. Great to get such positive feedback from learners too.”
